I decided to try CBD oil for myself to see if it helped me with better focus or just to calm me down when playing golf. I am amped up to play golf when I go out and it takes me a few holes to calm down. I thought perhaps CBD oil for golf could replace the positive effect alcohol has my game. When I have a beer or two when I’m playing golf, it seems to help me calm down and perhaps think a little less about every aspect of my swing. It’s no secret that alcohol is proven swing lube but sometimes you don’t feel like drinking beer at 7 o’clock in the morning. You gotta wait until at least 10 right?
Before trying CBD oil I wanted to make sure I wasn’t going to fail a drug because my employer randomly tests. My pharmacist assured me that the cbd oil did not have THC in it or at least not enough to fail a test. He said you would have to have a major amount of it to register in a test. And for that reason CBD is not a banned substance in sports either.
I’ve only tried the CBD oil a few times and I can tell you that I did feel calm is probably the best way to describe it. It was very subtle. I can’t say it helped my game although my pharmacist told me that you have to find the right amount or strength and to not get discouraged if I didn’t see the benefits of CBD oil right away. He said you want it to be strong enough to make a difference but not too strong because it will make you sleepy. When I took the CBD oil before golfing I didn’t feel sleepy. But when took the CBD oil a few times when I wasn’t golfing and it did make me sleepy. I have concluded that I won’t take the CBD oil unless there is a reason that I want to feel sleepy or a situation where I’m amped up and I need the calming effect of the CBD oil. From what I’m reading it seems like a lot of golfers are using it to improve their sleep. Taking Cbd oil can help you sleep and sleep is nature’s performance enhancing drug. Taking CBD increases sleep quality when taken regularly.
Golfers Benefit from CBD oil
When I saw Phil and Tiger chewing gum at the Masters I found it very odd so I read about it and learned that professional golfers were using CBD oil. Bubby Watson, Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, Scott McCarren, Lucas Glover etc. You can take in the form of chewing gum or other edibles or droplets of the oil under your tongue.
Golfers are athletes and the pros walk a lot, they play a lot and they practice a lot. With all that exercise comes aches and pains especially as you get older. Thanks to your internal endocannabinoid system, taking extra cannabinoids can help. CBD oil interacts with vanilloid receptors in your body to reduce the perception of pain. It also acts as an anti-inflammatory agent and treatment for arthritis. As arthritis is an inflammation of the joints, it makes sense that CBD oil would be used to treat sports-induced inflammation as well.
CBD to Reduce Stress and Anxiety
CBD can regulate neurotransmitter release by interacting with your endocannabinoid system in the brain. Your brain releases these neurotransmitters during times of stress. During golf, this anxiety makes it incredibly hard to succeed. Taking CBD before a stressful task, such as public speaking, can lower anxiety. If you’re prone to first-tee jitters, CBD oil might be the solution for you.
CBD to Improve Concentration and Focus
The same neurotransmitter affect can help golfers manage their mindset. Not being too anxious and balancing your nerves and alertness can help you hyper focus and play at your maximum potential.
